Imphal, April 23 2021:
The Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) took out a drive to check if the goods are sold at the right prices at Masjid road today.
Durng the drive, MSF urged the shops in the area to follow Covid appropriate behaviour and sell their goods at the price fixed by the Government.
The volunteers also urged the shopkeepers to display the price list of their goods.
Speaking to journalists, general secretary of MSF, Hijam Roshan said that the drive was carried out on receiving inputs that certain shops/outlets are indulging in trading activities with no regard for the Covid safety protocols while many are selling goods at inflated rates.
He cautioned that shops operating without obeying the SOPs for Covid and not exhibiting the price list in future will be closed without warning.
Roshan also urged the State Government to take stern action against the shopkeepers violating Covid safety protocols and not displaying the price list of their wares.
He further appealed to the Government to update the price list of essentials on a weekly basis to check artificial hiking of prices.
If anyone comes across shops selling goods exorbitantly, MSF may be contacted through these numbers - 8787604146; 9863259448 and 9366657948, he informed.
