Imphal, June 19:
Manipuri brethren who are living in different parts of the world have now joined in protesting against the extension of Indo-Naga cease fire to Manipur by opening a website to launch an international signature campaign.
The website found at www.geocities.com/savemanipur was initiated by a member of e-group, Manipur, an international community of Manipuris through internet.
The site can be logged on by any person who is against the ceasefire extension and is accompanied by a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India.
The same memorandum would be directed to the Prime Ministers office through e-mail.
The drafted memorandum says, Manipuris love peace and support your (PM) initiatives with NSCN (IM), but those initiatives cannot be at our expenses.
The people of Manipur today stand united against Greater Nagaland concept that may compromise the territorial integrity of Manipur, it said.
The memo said that India has fought four war over Kashmir with Pakistan adding Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister in 1952 gave away Manipurs Kabow valley to the Burmese to buy peace.
The old mistrust has been sparked off by the recent extension of Indo-Naga ceasefire.
The resentment and mistrust will only be undone by acts of good faith by strong leaders like you , the memorandum said.
The memorandum further appealed to the Prime Minister to lead and show consideration of feelings and sentiments and listen to the cries of all Manipuris.
