Army and Para military forces continued to flag march on the second day of the indefinite curfew even as reported from different places in the State.
There is, however, no report of any major violent incidents, but the situation remains tense, official sources said.
The indefinite curfew in the Greater Imphal area, which was imposed after yesterday�s violence in which 13 people were killed in police firing and several Government building were burnt is till on.
Protesters burnt a Congress (I) office at Checkon in Imphal East tonight.
An office of the MSCP was burnt at Nambol tonight despite prohibitory orders at he area.
On getting the information fire tenders rushed there.
Most of the MLAs and MPs present in the State Capital have deserted their official quarters and sought shelter at either relative�s places or at the Assam Rifles posts in the capital.
Several VIP quarters, Assembly Secretariat were burnt by an angry mob yesterday.
Night curfew was clamped in Churachandpur district today from 5 pm to 6 am tomorrow.
The curfew in Thoubal district was relaxed from 3 pm to 5 pm today to allow the resident s to purchase essential items.
Prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC has already been Imposed in Bishnupur district.
Following directives from the Union Home Minister additional forces have been rushed to Manipur from other States including West Bengal.
Assam Rifles and para-military forces deployed in neighbouring North Eastern States are on their way to Manipur along the Imphal-Dimapur road.
More than 1000 para military personnel are reported to have arrived in the State till this afternoon, official sources said.
Four battalions of paramilitary forces were rushed to the State which today witnessed renewed violence in the interiors, a PTI reported from the Delhi.
Three persons injured in yesterday�s firing incident are in critical condition at JN Hospital.
Doctors have amputated the right leg below the knee of 39 year old Sorokaibam Sobita of New Checkon.
The condition of BJP MLA N Bihari, who sustained 70 pc burn injuries during the Assembly arson is stated to be critical.
He is reported to be in coma while condition of another MLA K Tomba, who also suffered burn injuries, is reportedly improving.
Post mortem of the 13 bodies have not been conducted as family and relatives refused to identify and collect the bodies.
The two unidentified bodies have been identified as Gurumauyum Dutta(16) of Kwakeithel Konjeng Leikai and Ksh Romio (25) of Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai.
Reports reaching here said protesters block roads and burnt effigies of Central leaders.
Burning of effigies are reported from Lilong, Kakching, Waikhong and other places.
The Indian national flag was burnt and seven colour flag was allegedly hoisted at Tera Bazar.
Anti-truce supporters led by the Royal Club, Moirang today carried out a rally in protest against the killing of 13 persons and injuring several during yesterday�s firing incident.
Around 1000 person participated in the rally.
The rally started from Moirang bazar, and after going upto Electricity House returned to Moirang College gate and congregated at Moirang bazar where the effigies of the Prime Minister, Th Muivah and K Padamanabhaiah were burnt.
The rally strongly denounced the Centre�s decision to extend the area of the ceasefire beyond Nagaland.
A top-level security meeting presided over by the Governor Ved Marwah reviewed the situation.
Besides, Central officials arrived here from Delhi to assess the situation, reports PTI.
Amidst imposition of curfew, a public meeting was today at Kakching, it was organized by the Whiz-kids society, Joint Non-Governmental Organization and representatives of the Lois strongly opposed the extension of the cease-fire area and demanded its revocation.
It also termed yesterday�s firing incident in which 13 innocents were killed by CRPF jawans as barbaric.
While condoling the victims, the meeting appealed to all to usher in peace and harmony.
