KNLF clarifies

The KNLF/KPA has claimed that Hangsai alias Lalpu, i/c finance secretary of the organization was a deserter, and dubbed his recent accounts through the state media as cooked-up.
A statement signed by Lunglen Kuki, secretary information and publicity of the KNLF/KPA said Hangsai forfeited his own path as a cadre and deserted it along with taking a huge amount of money meant for the organisation.
The cook-up story which he narrated before the media was meant to mislead the people and tarnish the image of KNLF/KPA and other revolutionary groups, it added.
It further said that KNLF/KPA always stands for its people's aspiration and never takes the help of other organizations which are under the SoO, as was alleged.
The statement has also informed that S.Lalcha Kuki has been appointed as the assistant finance secretary with immediate effect and until further order.
Meanwhile, a separate statement issued by Th Stephen Kuki, under secretary Pub.
and Information, KNO on the same issue has declared that KNO has no enmity with any armed groups that belong to the Kuki ethnic group, and that it welcomes any Kuki armed groups to share the KNO umbrella.
'Any armed group that joins KNO would be obliged to follow the ground rules of Suspension of Operation (SoO), to which the organization is a signatory.
This would be done with a view to discourage new or splintered armed groups to exist outside the ambit of SoO,' it said.
