Imphal, October 06: The proposed construction of FCS godown at Longmai Noney in Tamenglong district is heading for a tussle among the social organisations in the district.

While accusing the chairman of the Tamenglong HQs Village Authority Council (TML-HQ-VAC) as a self-styled person, the Longmai Village Authority, Longmai Area Village Authority Council, Longmai Youth League, Longmai Congress Committee and Village Authority Council (NAPHAVAC) have expressed shock over the statement of the chairman of (TML-HQ-VAC) which was published in various local dailies on October 4 that had opposed the construction of FCS godown at Noney.

According to these Longmai area based organisations, a special meeting of leaders' forum was held on October 4 to discuss the press statement of the chairman of Tamenglong HQ Village Authority Council.

The leaders minutely discussed the matter and asked the TML-HQ-VAC whether Longmai Noney is part of the Tamenglong district or not.

"After a minute and proper survey of the site for the construction of the FCS godown, the Manipur Government is keen to locate the same at Longmai Noney after having had viewed all the aspects of the future progress.

We felt extremely happy over the decision of FCS minister Y Erabot for his decision.

We earnestly appeal the authority concern to stay away from the selfish motive of such individual like Keibonang Pamei," urged the Longmai based bodies while warning the chairman of the Tamenglong HQ Village Council Chairman not to create and feed unnecessary twisted versions to the people of the State by giving such unwarranted statements in future.

"This unacceptable agitation mentioned in the news report, would be deadly against the will of the people (if launched) by the so called council," fumed the Longmai based organisations.

The Longmai area based organisations also termed the statement of the TML-HQ-VAC chairman as narrow mindedness.
