NSUC highlights issues in Chandel

The Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) extended its appreciation to the State Government for implementing various 'Aspirational District Programmes' in Chandel district and highlighted a few gray areas.
The NSUC in a statement raised questions over the quality of the work in regard to the District Hospital while adding that the work is still incomplete after 7 years of slow progress.
In regards to opening of schools in Chandel district, NSUC mentioned that if the schools are opened for physical classes under improved situation, the previous agreements and demands in respect of teacher's salaries and fees must be honoured in letter and spirit.
NSUC while appreciating the initiative of the State Government for including the Maha Union Govt Higher Secondary School in the 1st phase of School Fagathansi Mission pointed out the poor quality of the work done by the contractor in renovating the existing old buildings.
Some sections of the National Highway from Pallel to Chandel constructed and blacktopped by Krishna Company (KCC) have been neglected and compromised on the work quality in terms of material inputs and technical specifications,' it added.
NSUC also stated that the construction of the road leading to District Headquarters- Chakpikarong via Sugnu by the BRTF has been lingering for a very long time.
It also highlighted the issue regarding the alleged corruption charges on the DFO and the sealing of the District Fishery Office for the second time while adding that the DFO office would remain sealed until their demands have been fulfilled.
The NSUC further appealed to the District Administration to expedite the pace of vaccination in the inhabited areas and involve the CSOs & Church elders along with the village chiefs.
