NPF reaches out to needy people in interior Chandel

Naga People's Front, Manipur State Unit (NPF-MSU) reached out to Chandel district with relief materials on July 3.An NPF-MSU Covid-19 relief team led by its president Robert T Maram and accompanied by secretary Honteikhui and general secretary (youth) Ahem Luikang handed over relief materials consisting of eggs, mustard oil and canned fish to the executives of NPF Chandel Division, who would distribute the same to the needy people in the interior areas.
It is said to be one of the initiatives of the NPF focusing on the villagers who are not aware of the party and what one of the oldest regional parties has been doing for the rights of the tribal.
The step is to be taken up in other districts too in near future.
The first phase of distribution last year was reportedly carried out with donations from NPF members.
NPF Chandel Division president Startson Langhu and his team expressed happiness over the timely assistance when most of the people are struggling due to the Covid-19 pandemic-induced lockdown.
NPF-MSU would also be organising a tree plantation drive on July 5 in commemoration of the 72nd Van Ma-hotsava in all hill districts of the state.
In this regard, the party has requested all environmentalists and nature lovers to participate in the plantation drive in their own districts.
