Daily positivity rate sees slight drop at 14.9 pc; virus claims 8 more
600 plus daily spike continues with 643 more positive

Imphal, July 04 2021:
A slight drop from the total of 689 recorded on July 3, but still above the 600 mark at 643 new cases and a slight drop in the daily positivity rate at 14.9 percent, down from the high of 15.5 percent yesterday.
These are the figures recorded in Manipur in the last 24 hours on July 4 .
The daily number of deaths too saw a slight drop, down from the 13 deaths of July 3 to 8 on July 4.In four days, the month of July has added 2,496 to the total number of positive cases and 42 deaths, with July 1 reporting 8, July 2 reporting 13, July 3 accounting for 13 and July 4 recording 8 more deaths.
The 643 new positive cases include 6 security personnel and out of the 637 civilians women accounted for 317 .
The positive cases were detected at RIMS (12), JNIMS (73), District Hospitals (362) and other testing centres (196) .
From amongst the general population, the 637 positive cases are from Imphal East (145), Imphal West (242), Thoubal (76), Bishnupur (58), Kakching (10), Ukhrul (5), Churachandpur (65), Chandel (15), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (2), Tengnoupal (2), Jiribam (2) and Kangpokpi (13) .
The COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement claimed that all necessary measures like containment and contact tracings have been put in place.
Manipur also reported 8 deaths in the last 24 hours, to take the total death tally to 1196.The deceased persons belonged to Imphal West (2), Imphal East (2), Bishnupur (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Churachandpur (2).They passed away at RIMS (1), JNIMS (2), Raj Medicity (1), Shija Hospital (1), MSF Little Hospital (1) and District Hospital Churachandpur (2) .
On the other hand 602 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours.
They were discharged from home isolation (226), RIMS (23), JNIMS (3), CCCs (116), and CHICs (234) .
With the addition of 643 new cases, the cumulative figure of positive cases is 72,286 including 3860 Central security personnel.
The cumulative number of people who have recovered from the virus is 64,931 including 3786 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is 6159 including 69 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate stands at 89.92 percent On July 3, 23,368 people received their vaccination shots and the total number of people who have been vaccinated stands at 729061 and out of this 85750 people have received their second dose.
In the last 24 hours, 2194 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 361 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
Anyone whose oxygen level goes below 94 percent have been urged to seek immediate medical help or shift to a Covid Care Centre.
