Covid claims two more lives, infects 87

Imphal, July 27 2022:
The fourth wave of Covid-19 pandemic in the state claimed two more lives and infected 87 more people from 12 districts, out of 1164 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 7.47 per cent positivity rate.
The 87 fresh cases (57 male & 29 female) are residents of Imphal West (44), Imphal East (13), Churachandpur (8), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (3), Chandel (3), Kangpokpi (3), Kakching (2), Senapati (2), Ukhrul (2) and Noney (1) districts.
The two victims were residents of Imphal East and Imphal West districts.
Both of them had received second dose of Covid vaccine while one had co-morbid conditions.
With this, the cumulative toll from Covid-19 in the state has reached 2128 .
Wednesday also reported 78 recoveries in the last 24 hours from home isolation (63), JNIMS (8), RIMS (4) and Shija Hospital (3) as number of active cases rose to 615, out of which 417 (67.80 per cent) are in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2128 lives and infected 1,38,809 individuals in the state.
The victims included 199 vaccinated people, out of which 65 had received the second dose of Covid vaccines.
There are 10 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 19 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 1564 positive cases and eight deaths since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 1539 new positive cases and eight death cases.
The cumulative positivity rate for the current month dropped further to 10.43 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 80 D-type and 20 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 7,444 vaccine doses administered which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 16,10,577, out of which 12,82,527 had received the second dose and 1,87,731 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by TPC based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (49480), Imphal East (30850), Thoubal (10237), Churachandpur (11136), Kangpokpi (3162), Tamenglong (3489), Bishnupur (9916), Senapati (2515), Ukhrul (3315), Kakching (6942), Chandel (2758), Noney (1170), Tengnoupal (1207), Jiribam (1116), Kamjong (1048), and Pherzawl (468) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (706), Imphal East (513), Thoubal (190), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (68), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (124), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,734 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 31,207 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,25,118 tests per million population against the national average of 6,20,271 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.53 per cent and the recovery at 98.02 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate stands at 8.52 per cent.
