72 more return from Assam, Nagaland

Altogether 72 people including a two-month old twin and a two-year old baby returned from Assam and Nagaland today, our correspondents report.
While 55 of them have been lodged in the quarantine centre opened at JNV Chandel located at Liwa Sarei village, the other 17 are residents of Heirok AC and they have been put under institutional quarantine at Waikhom Mani Girls College, Thoubal Okram.
At the initiative of Water Resources and YAS Minister Letpao Haokip, 55 people belonging to Chandel district were brought to Imphal from Guwahati today before they were taken to the quarantine centre opened at Liwa Sarei village.
The returnees included 30 males and 25 females.
The Chandel CMO said that samples of all the 55 people would be collected and they may be sent to Imphal by tomorrow.
Letpao Haokip flagged off two buses from his Koirengei residence on May 8 to bring back the stranded people from Guwahati.
Meanwhile, 17 other people who were stranded in Assam and Nagaland reached Thoubal today with the help of Education Minister Th Radheshyam.
The 17 people were received by Radheshyam at Thoubal before they were sent to the quarantine centre of Waikhom Mani Girls College.
They left Guwahati yesterday and all their travel expenses were met by the Education Minister.
Currently there are 48 people in the quarantine centre of Thoubal District Hospital and 38 others at Waikhom Mani Girls College.
