Awareness programme on COVID-19 held

COVID-19 monitoring task Force Committee, Manipur University in collaboration with NSS Cell and Don Bosco College Maram has organised an awareness programme on COVID-19 was organised at Maram Centre, Senapati District yesterday.
The programme was conducted as per the direction of the UGC and MHRD, the higher educational institutions to adopt interior villages and conduct awareness programmes during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The programme held from 11 am was attended by Prof W Chandbabu Singh, Registrar of Manipur University; Prof GP Prasain, Dean School of Social Sciences; Dr Yuireishang Eshidang, Medical Officer of MU; Dr K Shitaljit Singh, NSS Programme Coordinator MU, Fr (Dr) KO Sebastian, Principal of DBC Maram; Dr S Opendra Singh NSS PO, MU, Dr L Santosh Singh NSS PO MU, Sr Sweta NSS PO of DBC Maram, Sir John Britto NSS PO Unit 3 DBC Maram as officials.
More than a hundred villagers were present at the event with strict maintenance of social distancing norms.
Dr Yuireishang Eshidang, Medical Officer of MU demonstrated the steps of washing hands and some basic guidelines to combat the COVID-19.Masks, soaps and hand sanitizers were distributed as required and attempts were made to aware them of the basic precautionary measures to be undertaken to avoid its infection and spread.
The program gained overwhelming response in the form of queries by many who also vowed to spread the received message to others to combat the outbreak.
The elders of the village applauded the efforts by the whole team of Manipur University, DBC Maram and the medical team.
At the end of the session light refreshment was given to all the villagers.
