A special meeting to find out ways and means to improve the present financial condition and activate the resource mobilisation process was held at the Chief Minister's office chamber today.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh who is also in charge of the Planning Department presided over the meeting attended by important top officials of the Planning Department and discussed additional resource mobilisation programme to be taken up to augment the sagging economy of the State.
During the current fiscal year, Manipur Government is targeting to earn an amount of Rs 200 crores from the various resource mobilization programmes being taken up.
Out of this amount Rs 95 crores is expected to accrue from other additional resources mobilization programmes.
However, an official source informed that the State Government had never achieved the target set in the past.
So keeping this fact in mind the meeting seriously deliberated upon ways to achieve the target this time by intensifying the ongoing resource mobilization process.
It was decided that among the various Government departments, Power, Land Revenue, PHED, etc should be given special attention, the source said, adding that the meeting is likely to be held tomorrow again.
Camp concludes: In an effort to save the phumlen of Loktak Lake, a two day voluntary camp on People Action for Protection of Environment jointly organized by Wetland and Wasteland Development Committee (MPCCI) and Loktak Development Authority, Manipur concluded today at Tokpa Ching.
The camp was inaugurated by L Jayantakumar Singh, ex-MAHUD Minister and Th Birchandra Singh, pradhan Lamjao Gram Panchayat on December 21 as chief guest and president respectively.
