Accusing the agent coordinators and superintendent of the National Institute of Open School of siphoning funds from several students on the pretext of admitting them to the NIOS, Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) has appealed to all the individuals involved in the racket to surrender to the student body within April 24.Talking to media-persons, MSF president Saikhom Sanjoy said that all the individuals involved will be punished severely and prevented from holding any post in the NIOS in future.
Informing that the matter was reported to the MSF authorities by some of the students who were barred from sitting in the Class X and XII exams which began on April 19 and 20 on account of the NIOS authorities' failure to fill up their forms, he said that out of the total students who were barred from sitting in the exams, 54 belonged to Grace Christian English High School Bishnupur, 90 to Royal Academy Churachandpur and 12 to Moreh Centre.
Mention may be made here that NIOS Co-ordinator Moirangthem Ingobi, NIOS Superintendent S Itocha, NIOS agents O Ranjit, Irabot and I Ibobi had collected collected a total sum of Rs 1,09,250 from the students on the pretext of filling up their forms for the class X and XII exams.
Sanjoy also demanded all the concerned persons to return the money they had taken from the students within April 24.
