Even as the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has asked for more information on the possible public protest in connection with laying the foundation stone of Tipaimukh project during the proposed visit of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to the State in the latter part of this month, a meeting was held at Lungthulien along with the local MLA to discuss the preparations to welcome the distinguished visitor.
The meeting attended by representatives of Hmar Inpui of Tipaimukh area, Hmar National Union and Village Councils and chaired by local MLA and Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board Dr Chaltolien Amo discussed necessary arrangements to be taken up for giving a warm reception to the Prime Minister when he lands at Tipaimukh to lay the foundation stone of the dam.
The probable site where the helipad would be constructed for the Prime Minister's chopper was also discussed.
Meanwhile, reliable sources informed that PMO has asked for more information from the State Government on the possible public reaction to the Prime Minister's visit and the proposal of laying the foundation stone of the controversial dam.
