Manipur Governor Dr SS Sidhu and Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh are attending the two�day North Eastern Council (NEC) meeting which began today at Ashok Hotel, Chanakyapuri here, informs the Manipur Information Centre, Delhi.
In the meeting, Manipur Principal Secretary (Planning) DVSingh and the Planning Director K Mangi Singh also attended.
Inaugurating the meeting of the NEC here today, Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region, Mani Shankar Aiyar said the vision document 2020 for NE Region would be finalized by January 2007 as directed by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.
Expressing concern over the shortfall of expenditure earmarked for various Central Ministries, Aiyar reminded all the State Governments of the NE Region including Sikkim for timely submission of the proposals.
The projects had to be ensured for full utilization of funds.
The two-day meeting is being attended by the Governors and the Chief Ministers of North Eastern States and Sikkim.
The meeting would also deliberate upon areas of specific concerns of each State.
