After all the students who sought admission in TG Hr Sec School, CC Hr Sec School and Johnstone Hr Sec School have been admitted under a new arrangement initiated by Education Minister M Okendro, the three schools would commence the academic session of 2012-13 from July 9 .
Speaking to media persons at TG Hr Sec School today, Principal of the school T Pramodini said that 896 students have been admitted in the school in Science stream and 332 students in Arts stream this year in line with the Education Minister's new policy.
Notably, the normal intake capacity of TG Hr Sec School was only 200 students each in both Science and Arts streams.
In addition to arranging the requisite additional classrooms, desks and benches, 63 more teachers have also been re-posted at the school, Pramodini said.
So far, 455 students have been admitted in Science stream and another 152 students in Arts in CC Hr Sec School so far.
13 additional teachers have also been re-posted at the school.
In Johnstone Hr Sec School, 320 students and 200 students have been admitted in Science and Arts streams respectively.
Moreover, 11 additional teachers have also been transferred to the school.
Though large number of students came for admission in the three schools in Science and Arts streams, the number of Commerce students seeking admission in the three schools was lower this time.
Unlike the previous where it took the years for the Government to send some blackboards and desks, requisite infrastructure and teaching staff were arranged within days under the initiative of the incumbent Education Minister, remarked the Principals of the three premier schools.
They also exuded that the Education Minister would address the shortages plaguing science laboratories in these schools.
