Ultimatum served to UBI, Moreh

Moreh, July 07 2012:
Meitei Council Moreh (MCM) and Hill Tribal Council (HTC) Moreh have asked the UBI Moreh Branch to pay all pending dues regarding rent of its office building to the rightful owner of the building within July 22 failing which will result in the closure of UBI Moreh Branch without further notice.
A joint statement of the MCM and HTC said that the two organisations had settled the family dispute over the possession of land and building owned by (L) M Janeshwor of Moreh Ward No 6 .
The building in questioned was leased out to the UBI Moreh and Taxation department.
On November 2, 2011 an intimation was made to the UBI and Taxation department authorities furnishing details of the settlement and a notice for payment of pending house rent.
The Taxation department has paid the due house rent while the UBI refused to pay till date due to reason best known to the authority.
The joint statement added that there is no pending legal formalities on the matter of building/land ownership.
