Leirenjao Remmei condoled

Zeliangrong Welfare Association, Delhi and Zeliangrong Students; Union, Delhi have condoled the demise of yester-year's comedian Leirenjao Remmei who passed away on July 6 at St Stephen's Hospital.
Remmei was a farsighted man who possessed rare talents.
He was a pioneer and an enthusiast in film-making.
He advocated promotion of Zeliangrong traditional art and culture and took keen interests in games and sports.
He was also passionately involved in painting, drama and theatre.
He was awarded a Gold Medal and a Silver Medal as the Best Comedian by Manipur Drama Union (MDU) from 1970s-1980s.He produced and directed one of the first Zeliangrong movies 'Cinema Drama' in the late 1980s when film industry in Manipur was still in its infant stage and under his stewardship as the Secretary of Zeliangrong Football Association (ZFA), ZFA lifted the Inter-State Maharaj Churachand Trophy in 1965 .
Remmei is survived by his wife, children, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren and a posse of extended families.
A condolence service of was is organized by Zeliangrong Christian Fellowship Delhi at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Delhi in the evening yesterday during which many people recalled the contributions made by Remmei towards development of Zeliangrong community during his life time.
