The State Government has initiated the first round of peace talk with armed outfits KNO and UPF at New Delhi last week.
The two sides have also agreed to hold the next round of talk within a short time.
A high ranking official of the State Government informed The Sangai Express that the State team is led by Principal Secretary (Home) PBO Warjiri.
The Principal Secretary during the preliminary round of talks put forth ground the rules for the Suspension of Operation (SoO) between the outfits and security forces.
The Kuki outfits have already entered into an SoO with Army and Assam Rifles.
The ground rules of the ceasefire formulated by the State Government in consultation with the Union Home Ministry laid down that the peace talk should be under the Constitution of India.
It also put forth that the peace talk should not entail any compromise on the territorial integrity of Manipur.
The other basic condition of the ceasefire ground rules is establishment of designated camps for the UG groups.
Cdos scalp one UG suspect : A suspected UG cadre was killed during an encounter with Imphal West commandos at a place in between Lamdeng and Kameng, located about 7 kms North West of Lamshang police station at around 2.45 pm today.
According to a press release issued by SP Imphal West Clay Khongsai, Imphal West commandos, acting on a specific information about the presence of some PREPAK cadres in Lamdeng area, the commandos conducted frisking at the inter-village road.
During the course of the frisking exercise, one white Maruti car was spotted on the road leading to Kameng village.
Even as the commandos singalled the car to stop, one of the occupants got down and fired towards the commando team who retaliated swiftly.
In the ensuing encounter, one unidentified youth was killed on the spot while the other occupants managed to escape.
One .32 pistol loaded with two live rounds and some empty cases were also recovered from the possession of the slain youth.
Th unidentified deceased has slim body and fair complexion.
His ears were pierced.
He was wearing blue coloured track pants, a full-sleeve shirt with black and white stripes and pair of rubber slippers.
Police have retrieved the corpse and deposited at RIMS mortuary.
