Imphal, February 07:
Taking grim note of the ever degrading environmental condition of the capital city owing to alleged inefficiency and lack of concrete planning by the State authorities, the United Committee Manipur (UCM) has mockingly suggested that Government of Manipur propose for inclusion of Imphal in the Guinness Book of Records as 'the World's Dirtiest City'.
Terming development projects being implemented in the capital areas as vivid reflection of arrogance of the Engineers and contractors due to lenient and inconsiderate attitude of the State Government, UCM expressed strong resentment that rather than promote health and hygiene of the citizens, the masses are being exposed to all forms of diseases.
Rubbishing claims by the SPF Government of development achievements as notorious and testing tolerance of the public, a UCM release by its IPR secretary BM Yaima Shah cautioned the masses that continued silence to State Government's sloppiness would only lead to Manipur plunging into an abysmal State.
Further alleging that those holding high offices in the State have been pillaging welfare funds from the Central Government, Yaima shah appealed to the masses to rise in unison in rectifying disarrayed policy of the Government.
