Lecture on NMA, medical camp conducted

Sehlon Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a lecture on Nasha Mukti Abhiyaan (NMA) at Kovang village in Chandel district during which the locals were briefed about the disadvantages of getting into drug habits and its effects, adverse effect of drug on personal and social life and its bad impact on life.
A total of 45 villagers attended the lecture.
The lecture was well understood and welcomed by the villagers who were motivated to follow a drug free life, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
In another release, the PRO informed Loktak Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted a medical camp at Saihenjang village in Churachandpur district on Wednesday to provide basic medical checkup, first aid and es-sential medicines to local populace including children.
As part of medical camp, information on various aspects were provided that included hygiene, sanitation, COVID-19, lifestyle diseases, etc., by medical officer of Assam Rifles, and volunteer doctors Dr Santosh Kumar Pandey and Dr Himani Zadge, who are both from Mumbai and are specialists in Acupuncture.
A total of 150 locals were benefited from the medical camp, the PRO added.
