RIMS PGT doctors stage protest

Imphal, December 23 2021:
Post Graduate Trainee (PGT) doctors of RIMS staged a protest demonstration on Thursday against delay in counselling for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) successful PG students.
During the protest de-monisation, PGT doctors used placards inscribed with slogans like 'Conduct NEET-PG Counselling', 'More doctors in need', 'Expedite NEET-PG Counselling', 'Almost one year squandered in PG medical curriculum', etc.
A PGT doctor, who took part in the protest, said that NEET successful PG students encounter various inconvenience due to non-conduct of counselling.
Additional doctors are required during COVID-19 pandemic and proper health care service could not be ensured to the public due to shortage of doctors, the doctor said and stressed the need for immediate conduct of counselling for NEET successful PG students.
The protest, however, did not affect medical service including emergency cases in the hospital.
