Govt yet to 'beg' from centre: Khemchand

RD&PR minister and Singjamei MLA Yumnam Khemchand has claimed that unlike the previous Congress government, the incumbent BJP government has not indulged in the practice of going to Delhi and "begging" the central leaders for development of the state.
He made the remark while speaking at a Mandal Level Workshop on Booth Sashakti-karan organised by BJP Singjamei Mandal at Leishangthem Leikai community hall on Tuesday.
The workshop was attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh president Adhikarimayum Sharda, vice president N Nimbus, secretary K Inaocha, Imphal Municipal Corporation caretaker mayor L Lokeshwor, Ward no 15 dorporator Th Bankimchandra and Ward no.16 corporator Th.Eliza as members on the dais.
Khemchand said that many places are being developed on par with cities of the states.
In addition, the central BJP government has been taking up various development projects in the north east region, Khemchand said and urged for concerted efforts in strengthening the party from the booth level to ensure BJP's victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha election in 2024 .
