3657 GPs in state sans Panchayat Bhavan

Kapil Moreshwar Patil, Union minister of state for Panchayati Raj, has said that 3657 Gram Panchayats/rural local bodies of Manipur are functioning without Panchayat Bhavan while 60 GPs/traditional local bodies of the state are working without computer.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Moreshwar Patil said that Odisha is the only state Which has fully functional Gram Panchayat/rural local bodies with Panchayat Bhavans and computers while Kerala comes second with only one GP left to have Panchayat Bhavan.
The Union minister also informed the Lok Sabha that the Centre released a total of Rs 321.42 crore from the year 2019-20 till date under 14th Finance Commission, 15th Finance Commission, Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) scheme and Panchayat schemes for development of Panchayat in Manipur.
From the year 2019, fund worth Rs 19.56 crore under Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) scheme had also been given to Manipur, the Union minister informed, adding that a total of Rs 895 crore has been provided for strengthening Panchayats in the Union Budget 2023-24 .
