T Khullen VA bans cultivation of poppy

In support of the state government's 'War against Drug' campaign, Tumuyon Khullen village authority has banned cultivation or plantation of poppy within its jurisdiction with immediate effect.
Headman/chairman TA Mareiba and secretary RK Lovingson said that people of Tumuyon Khullen village strongly support the state government's efforts under the dynamic leadership of chief minister N Biren to save the future generation from falling prey to drugs and consequently decided to totally prohibit cultivation/plantation of poppy within the jurisdiction of the village.
They also said that following the ban of, any individual or groups found violating the same shall be strictly dealt with according to the customary law.
