AR inaugurates renovated school

44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector IGAR (East) undertook repairing and repainting of the Government High School, Namtiram village under Tousem Sub Division.
According to an Assam Rifles release, the village youth club approached the unit to repair and renovate the school building as the learning infrastructure was failing to add value to the students' life.
The battalion started the repair work during the monsoon season with many village youth joining hands with the unit jawans in realising their dream.
The battalion motivated and channelised them for constructive developmental activity in the village, the release said.
The renovated school building was inaugurated by 44 AR commandant on the occasion International Day of Democracy on Wednesday and handed it over to school authorities.
Speaking on the occasion, the commandant reminded that school is a place where children learn life-long lessons and carry the memories they experience at school throughout their life.
The right teaching environment and learning space for education prepares an individual for future social change, he stressed.
According to the release, the commandant along with Namtiram village chairman also inaugurated one day mega wellness camp at the school premises during which unit medical staff in collaboration with district hospital brought three medical practitioners including two female doctors and provided free medicines at the door steps of the villagers.
A basic medical testing laboratory was also established at the spot.
Approximately 125 patients were benefited from the medical camp, it added.
