AR saves snake bitten boy

Imphal, September 16 2021:
44 Assam Rifles provided medical assistance to a seven-year old boy from Chalwa village in T Waichong sub division of Kangpokpi district who was bitten by a snake on September 14 evening.
According to PIB (D), the boy was playing in the courtyard around 6 pm when a snake bit him on his foot.
The parents, who were clueless about the type of the snake, rushed the child to PHC, T Waichong from where the medical staff contacted the 44 AR CMO for medical assistance.
Immediately, the Banglabung post extended help to the medical staff by provision and administration of anti-snake venom.
The unit CMO over the telephone helped in providing telemedicine help.
The child was stabilised and subsequently referred to district hospital for further medical care and observation, the release added.
