4 more succumb, 216 test positive

Imphal, September 16 2021:
Four people have succumbed to COVID-19 even though three of them had received the 1st dose of Covid vaccine.
Taking into account the latest victims who belonged to Imphal West (2), Chandel (1) and Kangpokpi (1), the death toll has reached 1821 .
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 3122 samples were tested for COVID-19 and 216 were confirmed positive during the last 24 hours which puts the positivity rate at 6.9 per cent.
The positive cases including 10 CAPF personnel were confirmed during testing at RIMS (8), JNIMS (21) and other testing centres (187) .
The 206 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (94), Imphal East (39), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (10), Churachandpur (8), Chandel (4), Senapati (9), Tamenglong (1), Pherzawl (1), Kamjong (4) and Kangpokpi (20) .
With 20 positive cases out of 127 samples tested, Kangpokpi topped the daily positivity list with 15.7 percent followed by Kamjong at 13.8 percent where 4 out of a total of 29 samples tested returned positive result.
Chandel also had a high of 13.3 percent with 4 out of 30 samples tested returning positive results.
Following recovery, 219 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (58), RIMS (6), JNIMS (13), CCCs (101) and CHICs (41) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,17,913 (general population 1,13,710 and Central security personnel 4,203) .
This figure includes 2,614 active cases (general population 2,556 and Central security personnel 58) and 1,13,478 recovered cases (general population 1,09,338 and Central security personnel 4,140) .
The recovery rate is 96.24 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1192 D-type oxygen cylinders and 411 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the State.
Altogether 5157 COVID vaccine doses were administered yesterday, taking the cumulative number of doses administered in the State so far to 16,12,138 (1st dose 12,10,874 and 2nd dose 4,01,264) .
As enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, COVID-19 beds available at different health care centres are RIMS (general beds 176; ICU/HDU beds 22), JNIMS (general beds 50; ICU/HDU beds 6), Iland Hospital (general beds 60; ICU/HDU beds 0), Little Flower School (general beds 23; ICU/HDU beds 7), CMC (general beds 30; ICU/HDU beds 6), Iboyaima Hospital (general beds 27; ICU/HDU beds 3), Jivan Hospital (general beds 16; ICU/HDU beds 8), Shija Hospital (general beds 43; ICU/HDU beds 32) and Raj Medicity (general beds 76; ICU/HDU beds 22) .
