State records four deaths, 216 new cases

Imphal, September 16 2021:
The state on Thursday reported four deaths and 216 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 3122 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 6.92 per cent against Wednesday's 7.66 per cent.
Though the overall positivity rate remains in single digit, Kangpokpi (15.7 per cent), Kamjong (13.8 per cent) and Chandel (13.3 per cent) recorded double digit positivity rate.
At the same time, Imphal East, Imphal West and Pherzawl districts recorded single digit infection but were above the state's average positivity rate.
As of Thursday evening, 607 beds including 106 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
However, there is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities.
So far, the state has recorded 88,513 positive cases and 1447 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month recorded 3980 new cases and 39 fatalities out of which 1516 new cases and 15 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 216 new positive cases included 206 civilians (96 male & 110 female) and 10 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were confirmed at RIMS (8), JNIMS (21) and other testing centres (187).The positive cases from among the civilian population are from Imphal East (39), Imphal West (94), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (10), Churachandpur (8), Chandel (4), Senapati (9), Tamenglong (1), Pherzawl (1), Kamjong (4) and Kangpokpi (20) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 4 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours but no age and gender information have been provided by the committee.
Two of them were from Imphal West and one each from Chandel and Kangpokpi.
With this, the cumulative number of deaths due to Covid-19 in the state has reached 1821.Three of the four victims had received first dose Covid vaccine.
So far, 101 vaccinated individuals including 7 second dose vaccinated people have died.
In the last 24 hours, 219 patients were discharged from home isolation (58), RIMS(6), JNIMS(13), CCCs (101) and CHICs (41) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,17,913 (general population - 1,13,710 and CAPF personnel - 4,203).Number of recovered cases is 1,13,478 (general population - 1,09,338 and CAPF personnel - 4,140) and number of active cases is 2,614 (general population -2,556 and CAPF personnel - 58).The recovery rate is 96.24 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1192 D-type and 411 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
A total of 5157 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 12,10,874 which included 4,01,264 fully vaccinated individuals.
As of Wednesday, 99,144 eligible people are yet to get the second shot of Covid vaccine.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (40,257), Imphal East (26,083), Thoubal (9265), Churachandpur (9914), Kangpokpi (2715), Tamenglong (3235), Bishnupur (8889), Senapati (2158), Ukhrul (2564), Kakching (6295), Chandel (2229), Noney (1057), Tengnoupal (1026), Jiribam (1014), Kamjong (783) and Pherzawl (428).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (607), Imphal East (429), Thoubal (167), Churachandpur (154), Kangpokpi (57), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (184), Senapati (8), Ukhrul (29), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 37,995 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 23,884 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,06,671 tests per million population against the na tional average of 3,92,239 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 3122 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 6.92 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.34 per cent.
