Drivers rescued

Imphal, September 16 2021:
A joint team of special commando unit and Senapati district police rescued three truck drivers abducted by miscreants suspected to be militants last night.
According to police sources, the drivers were rescued acting on a tip-off that two trucks carrying bitumen towards Imphal from Guwahati have been hijacked and the truck drivers were kept in the custody of some unknown armed personnel at Lairouching area under Senapati district.
Based on the information, a team of special commando unit-Khabeisoi under the supervision of SP Railway, Th Krishnatombi rushed to Lairouching area and recovered the hijacked trucks along with bitumen worth Rs 30 lakh and rescued the drivers.
The rescued drivers are identified as Davinder Singh (45), son of (L) Dalbir Singh of Bhagupura, Taran district Punjab who is presently staying at Guwahati Beltola and Nagen Das (42), son of (L) Narayan Das of Siliguri Assam and Jadwinder Singh (37), son of Balwinder Singh of Taran Punjab and presently staying at Guwahati Beltola, the sources added.
