7 CPI Imphal City District Council meeting held

Imphal, June 20 2022:
Communist Party of India (CPI), Singjamei Local Council organised the 7th CPI Imphal City District Council meeting at the residence of S Yaima located at Singjamei Chingamathak Chongtham Leikai on Sunday.
The conference was attended by CPI state secretary L Sotinkumar, IMC ex-councillor Ch Manohar, All Manipur Nupi Marup secretary L Sumatibala, Keishamthong Local Council's L Ibopishak, State Secretariat members Rk Amusana and S Sarojini as presidium members.
In all, 13 delegates participated in the meeting, wherein a political draft report was presented by Biswaraj Potsangbam, while S Yaima read out the organisation's draft report.
Speaking on the occasion, L Sotinkumar remarked that after BJP took power both at the centre and in the state, the prices of fuel and other essential items have skyrocketed and overburdened the people, who are barely recovering from the impact of Covid 19 pandemic.
The various schemes introduced by the government have not benefitted the people, while the Agnipath scheme favours the youth only for 4 years and despondent in the later years.
The present government's only dream is to establish a capitalist society, while enslaving the poor, he remarked.
During the meeting, a 27-member body of councillors was formed, along with an 11-member executive committee.
S Gopesh-war Sharma; Kh Brojendro and P Biswaraj and Ng Jotin were elected unanimously as district secretary', assistant secretaries, and treasurer respectively for the 2022-25 term.
