House gutted in fire at Moijing Idigah Road

A two-floor house along Moijing Idigah Road, belonging to one Md Muhibur Rahaman (68) s/o (L) Md Najir Khan of Thoubal Moijing Idigah Road, has been gutted in a fire that broke out on Sunday evening.
Around Rs 40 lakh worth of properties including wedding items for two would-be brides have been reduced to ashes in the fire.
Speaking to newspersons on Monday, Muhibur's son Wahidur Rahaman informed that the fire, suspected to be caused by electric short circuit, was discovered by his father and sister around 4pm on Sunday.
At that time, no one was at home as it was harvesting season and the floors built of timber wood, caught fire easily.
When they detected, fire was already raging and so they could not put it out.
He continued that around Rs 1,33,450 in cash, 5 'mohor' of gold, furniture, wedding items, household goods and other items have been destroyed in the fire, resulting in loss of properties worth around Rs 40 lakh.
As such, he sought the help of the state government and relevant authorities in this regard.
Presently, the locals have come together to build a bamboo shed as a temporary shelter for the family.
In this regard, Moijing GP pradhan Abdul Warish appealed to the government, the authorities concerned and the generous people of the state to extend their help to the unfortunate family.
