Imphal, November 06 2023:
Expressing concern over the disappearance of two Meitei boys, Abhinash Maibam and Ningthoujam Anthony, who are suspected to have been abducted on their way to Sekmai from Imphal on November 5, Naga People's Organisation (NPO) and Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) have condemned the act of leaving phones of the missing boys in Naga area as an intention to implicate the Nagas and drag them into the on going ethnic conflict.
In separate releases, NPO and SDSA stated that the deceitful act is intended to drag the Nagas and flare up misunderstandings between different communities.
Though the state of Manipur has been reeling under ethnic conflict between two ethnic groups for the past few months, the Nagas have so far been maintaining a neutral position and advocating and appealing for peace, and for normalcy to return to the state as everyone is suffering due to the conflict.
Urging authorities concerned to look into the matter and investigate without any bias and leniency; they assured utmost support in the investigation and leave no stones unturned to bring the culprit to justice.
They also reminded the warring communities to refrain from dragging Nagas into the conflict.
