The Central Bureau of Investigation has submitted the charge sheets against the accused in the killing of Manoj Kumar Sethi before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal.
Sethi was abducted on April 12, 2003 and his bullet riddled body was found at Elang Khangpokpi area on April 27.The proscribed KYKL had claimed responsibility for killing Sethi.
Case dossiers said that Binod Kumar Sethi, elder brother of deceased had on April 16, 2003 lodged a complaint with the Imphal police station stating that his brother, Manoj Kumar Sethi went out for certain work on April 12 at about 6.30 pm at Uripok side.
He was abducted by unidentified persons near Ibotonsana High School at around 7.30 pm of the same day.
Imphal police subsequently registered an FIR case u/s 364 A/34 IPC.
Later the matter was referred to the CBI for investigation.
In its charge sheet, the CBI implicated six persons, all cadres of the KYKL.
They include H Sada-nanda alias Ibungo alias Narasena alias Krishna (20) of Narainsena Maning Leikai presently staying at Upokpi Awang (now detained under NSA), ( Premkumar alias Leimapokpam Ningthemjao (32) of Waheng Khuman Maning Leikai (absconder), S Ibomcha alias Johny alias Inao alias Premkumar alias Puya alias Subol (23) of Thoubal Kiyam Leikai (absconder), L Ashok Meitei alias Manisana (27) of Pangal Tabi Awang Leikai (absconder), Th Brojen alias Hinchabi (25) of Kha Potshangbam Awang Leikai (absconder).
The CBI, Special Crime branch, which is investigating the case prayed before the Court to summon the sic and tried according to law for their commission of offence u/s 120-B r/w 364-A, 302 IPC and u/s 27 of the Arms Act.
