Imphal, April 03:
Paving the way for the official merger of the MNC with RJD, the Central Executive Committee of the MNC which met this evening, unanimously agreed to merge the party with the RJD.
As per the constitution of the party, the matter will be discussed during the plenary session of the MNC on April 10, where the decision will be adopted again.
Presided by its president W Nipamacha and held at the residence of working president MLA S Natum, MNC leaders who recently went to Delhi gave a detailed report of their interactions with RJD leaders, during the meeting today.
The MNC leaders conveyed to the party workers that the merger process was set into motion as it believes in the principle of decentralisation of economic and political power of the RJD under Union Railways Minister Laloo Yadav.
The merger was earlier scheduled to be formalised on April 16 at Patna during a National Executive Meeting of the RJD.
However since a tussle to form the Govt is underway at Bihar, no formal invitation has been issued to the MNC to join the meeting, disclosed W Nipamacha.
The MNC leader however said that he has received verbal assurances from the general secretary of the RJD in charge of-North East Harimah Panja that an invitation to join the Patna conclave will be conveyed to the MNC within three/four days time.
