Imphal, April 02:
Highlighting inconveniences faced by vehicle operators due to the economic blockade imposed by MEELAL in pursuit of demands for implementation of Meetei Mayek the Manipur Drivers' Welfare Association fervently appealed to the Government and the agitation spearhead to settle the issue amicably at the earliest.
Stating that the economic blockade has not only led to suffering of the vehicle operators and their families but the restrictions along the National Highways is cause for concern for the general public as supply of essential corn-modities would be severely affected, said an Association press while appealing to MEELAL to relax the blockade in the interest of the public.
Pledging moral support to the MEELAL cause the Association further appealed to the State authorities to initiate dialogue to solve the impasse.
Appeals have been made from transport operators and drivers stranded at various locations due to the blockade.
