Thoubal, February 03 2023:
Claiming that RTI activist Ayekpam Keshorjit came with the motive to kill Laishram Rameshwar, convenor of BJP Manipur Pradesh ex-servicemen cell, who was killed on January 24 near his residence, the JAC formed against the murder has demanded the police to arrest prime accused Keshorjit's wife Ayekpam ongbi Romila.
Addressing a press meet at the late BJP leader's Thoubal Kshetri Leikai residence on Friday, Rameshwar's wife Nirmala said that Romila's claim of self-defence shooting is nothing but a futile attempt to mislead the case.
She alleged that the wife of the prime accused was either coerced to make the claim or was involved in the murder conspiracy.
She further said that there was a photograph of Keshorjit holding his gun just before he took the shot in her late husband's phone and it proves that the shooting was not self-defence but a deliberate act.
Nirmala also alleged that Romila and RTI activist Wahengbam Joykumar plotted the murder, and appealed to the police department to arrest Romila too.
Rameswar's younger brother Laishram Open said that his brother was the victim of a gang, who carry out extortion under the guise of RTI activism, and demanded appropriate punishment of all those involved in the crime.
