Dr Kalam Science Centre inaugurated

With an objective to produce brilliant scientists from the state and to encourage students in the field of science , Khangabok Higher Secondary School on Friday inaugurated 'Kalam Children & Student Scientists Centre', which the first of its kind in the state.
The inauguration programme was attended by National Council of Teacher Scientists, India and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam National Council of Young Scientists chairman Dr Chandramouli Joshi, Thoubal SP Jogeshchandra Haobijam, ZEO A Anilkumar, Bharat Bhusan & Bharat Ratan awardee Dr Kh Akoisana and school principal and national awardee Th Radhamani.
Speaking at the programme, Dr Chandramouli Joshi informed that Abdul Kalam Council registered at Vigyan Prasar Network of Young Scientists (VIPNET) under central government has established 25 science centres across the country with an objective to fulfill the dreams of Dr Abdul Kalam for making science enthusiast youngsters become scientists and bring about development in the field of science.
With the opening of cen tre at Guwahati in Assam and Tripura, the same fa cility has been inaugurated for Manipur at the school, he informed, while urging to identify students who are passionate about science.
Dr Chandramouli also stressed the need for knowing the relevance of science in development of a society.
