Friendlies organised to promote sports, curb drug use

In order to have cordial relation and strong bonding with the local youth, Loktak Battalion of Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) organised a 'friendly volleyball match' with local youth of Tuibong village in Churachandpur district on Friday at Company Operating Base, Tuibong.
The match witnessed participation of 9 representatives of the Battalion and 12 locals of Tuibong village.
Meanwhile, Tengnoupal Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a friendly football match with Tengnoupal Youth Club on Thursday in Tengnoupal district to promote Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan which is aimed at raising awareness against drugs through inclining the youth towards sports and other re-creative outlets.
Khuga Battalion also conducted a friendly volleyball match between youth of Haichin village, Myanmar and COB Songdoi at Songdoi village in Churachandpur district on Thursday.
As a part of the event, the youth were asked about their aspirations and motivated for a symbiotic association.
A total of 17 youngsters attended the event.
The youth were also briefed about sports culture in world and the opportunities available in today's environment in various sports genres.
They were also motivated to follow their dream sports and bring accolades for their country.
