Imphal, May 28 2015 :
United Committee Manipur (UCM) has demanded Chief Minister Okram Ibobi to immediately deploy State forces at Dzuko valley to prevent encroachment on the State boundary.
Speaking to reporters at their Lamphelpat office, UCM president Elangbam Johnson said that felling of trees continued with deployment of Nagaland State forces at Dzuko valley till yesterday.
As such, the Chief Minister must act fast instead of merely saying that the DC and SP have been instructed to look into the matter, Johnson said.
He further said that deliberate encroachment works on the boundary of Manipur at Dzuko valley by Nagaland started on October 14, 2014 .
However, instead of taking any tangible steps to prevent it, the Chief Minister and his Ministers are now busy in electioneering for ADC elections.
He said that the economic blockade on National Highways on June 1 would be followed by different forms of intense agitation, if the State loses land at Dzuko valley.
