Bodies threaten stir over missing man

While urging authority concerned to trace the whereabouts of Hijam Inaocha, who has been missing since February 27; Chingarel Tejpur Meira Paibi has threatened to launch agitations if the government fails to do the needful within 6 days.
A sit-in demonstration in connection with the missing case was held at Chingarel Tejpur waiting shed under the joint aegis of Yaipha Lamjing Kanglup (YLK), Chingarel Tejpur and Meira paibi groups of Chingarel Tejpur, Sawombung, Phaknung, Kangla Sangom-sang and Mana Ingkhol on Tuesday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, Chingarel Tejpur Meira Paibi secretary S Thajamanbi recounted that Inaocha went missing after he left a farm in Mana Ingkhol area on February 27 around 10 am.
A missing report had been registered timely at Lamlai police station but the whereabouts of Inaocha remains unknown till date.
While appealing to the government to locate the whereabouts of Inaocha within March 20 and help the family members live peacefully, she said that intense form of agitations will be launched with support from various civil society organisations, student bodies and meira paibi associations if the government is not able to ascertain whereabouts of the missing person within the stipulated time.
