CM to inaugurate oxygen plants today

Chief Minister N Biren Singh will be inaugurating three oxygen plants, constructed under PM CARES in Chandel, Ukhrul and Senapati districts on Monday.
According to the itinerary, the CM will depart for Chandel in a helicopter from Kangla helipad at 9.30 am and inaugurate the PSA oxygen plant at Chandel District Hospital by 9.40 am.
He will then depart for Ukhrul and inaugurate the plant at the District Hospital by 12.30 pm followed by the inauguration at Senapati District Hospital at 2.10 pm.
The inauguration functions will be attended by the district in-charge ministers and MLAs concerned.
Meanwhile, CM Biren has stated that strict attention will be given in containment zones and micro containments in coordination with representatives of Gram Panchayats and local clubs, following the relaxation of the 21-day long curfew imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
The central multi-disciplinary team has already discussed with the state officials with regard to measures being taken up to control the pandemic.
The team's main goal of visiting the state was to assess any loopholes /flaws concerning Covid-19 guidelines and SOPs, the CM conveyed.
On the other hand, of the 12 oxygen plants to be installed across the state including the hill districts under PM-CARES, parts/materials for 6 plants arrived via a flight on Sunday.
The parts/materials for the remaining 6 plants will arrive in the next 1-2 days.
So far, 11 lakh people have been vaccinated in the state.
Although 19 lakh people are to be vaccinated, 8 lakh of the population is yet to get the jab.
Once the 8 lakh people are vaccinated, the state could be declared as Covid-free, the CM remarked.
