Nirupa Sanjenbam honoured at NE festival

MaolKeki Foundation project coordinator Nirupa Sanjenbam was honoured after formal recognition as a woman achiever during the North-East festival held in Agartala as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav under the theme "Role of women in the development of North-East".
The event was attended by Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region joint secretary Harpreet Singh, North Eastern Council member Air Marshal Anjan Kumar Gogoi and Tripura deputy chief minister Jishnu Dev Varma.
Nirupa Sanjenbam is a graduate from Calcutta University and completed Post Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Foreign Trade from Manipur University in 2021 .
She was nominated from Manipur by the Social Welfare Department.
In her role as a project coordinator for MaolKeki Foundation, supported by partners such as AgriEntrepreneur Growth Foundation, Anaha Trust, NABARD and Sattva; she has been championing the development of farmers and Agri Entrepreneurs in various districts of the state some prominent activities being the Veg-in-a-Basket agribusiness which acted as a lifeline for thousands of Imphal resident by delivering farm-fresh vegetables to many stuck at home during the Covid lockdowns.
Recently, she has also been instrumental in the launch of Pukkei Agribusiness which provides machinery rental services and locally made high quality compost to Manipuri farmers.
Another initiative currently being piloted under her leadership is the Noney Banana Company that aims to improve banana productivity and explore the use of banana fibre for handicraft and handloom products.
Maol Keki Foundation is an organisation established with the purpose of catalysing positive development in Manipur primarily in the areas of agriculture, education and healthcare.
