Kakching, May 02 2022:
Thangbung Minou (T Minou) village chief Tonsing Thurhring Anal has urged the state government to consult the land owners before setting up the proposed International Cancer Hospital in the Indo Myanmar border and not to use the name of another village other than that of village where the hospital will be constructed.
Addressing a press meet at Chandel DHQ jointly organised by Naga Chiefs' Association Chandel, Anal Naga Tangpi and Thangbung Minou Village Authority on Monday, Ts Thurhring Anal said that they have come across media reports about government officials conducting land survey for construction of the hospital at Haolenphai village.
However, the actual site where the officials conducted survey belongs to Thangbung Minou village.
Haolenphai group encroached and settled in the area after the villagers fled the area during the Naga-Kuki clash.
The matter has also been resolved in the Inter-district case no 28 of 1934-35 of SDO Ukhrul, and boundary map of Thangbung Minou, Tengnoupal sub-division issued by MARSAC dated 11/2/2013 as well as by the decree in the original suit no 7/2014/1 of 2015 of the court of civil judge (senior division) Chandel dated 31/3/ 2015 .
They strongly object to the naming of the location as Haolenphai while keeping aside the original village name despite all these facts.
In the past too, the Ibobi government as well as the incumbent Biren government failed to implement model satellite town and Haolenphai police station respectively after Thangbung Minou villagers raised objection against the project proposal of using 'Haolenphai', he pointed out.
Ts Thurhring Anal further clarified that their objection is not against the construction of the proposed cancer hospital but against the wrong affiliation of village name.
He then urged the government to discuss the project with residents of T Minou village.
Naga Chiefs' Association Chandel President Tongsin Ruwngwar Anal, Anal Naga Tangpi (ANTA) president Sengul Phamhring Anal, Thangbung Minou Village assistant chief KI Thungam Anal, village secretary St Hosang Anal, women leaders St Thanija, Achim Anal, youth leader Rd Rohring Anal were also present among others during the press conference.
