Imphal, August 29 2014 :
United People's Front (UPF), Manipur marked its 16th anniversary function at Manipur Press Club here on Thursday.
Speaking at the event, U Nobokishore, secretary, Centre for Social Development, said many civil society organisations in Manipur have been performing various issue-based tasks for the good of the society, adding the Government has been allegedly trying to spoil the work effort.
The Government has been exercising monopoly over every issue and indulging in divisive policy to botch them up, Nobokishore accused.
All the social organisations have always failed to achieve their goals owing to the Government's planned meddling, he alleged.
Nobokishore alleged that every time an important issue comes up, the Government uses tactical steps to set aside the issue in order that it can replace it with another issue.
He said, "Let's intensify the ongoing Inner Line Permit movement.
The Government should not be allowed to fiddle with the ILP issue in any cost" .
U Nobokishore, BM Yaima Singh, president, UPF, Manipur, Rose Mangsi Haokip, president, Kuki Women Union, Manipur, Wangkhemcha Shyamjai, president, All Manipur Working Journalists' Union and Y Nabachandra, president United Committee Manipur (UCM) shared the dais on the occasion.
