All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) organised a consultation programme under the theme, ' socio-religious understanding for peace and harmony' at Shalom hall of MBC Centre Church today.
TCLF president Rev Dr S Lalpi Vaiphei and AMCO information and publicity secretary Rev Simon Raomei were the chairmen of the consultation programme.
MBC general secretary Rev Dr Wungnaoting Konghar, UCM president Elangbam Johnson, former president of Naga Women's Union, Aram Pamei and AMUCO president Y Mani Khuman and HERICOUN representative Mutum Churanjani spoke at the consultation programme.
MBC general secretary Rev Dr W Konghar said that peace is the gift of God and it must be preserved by one and all.
In his speech, UCM president Elangbam Johnson stressed on the need to study various social issues.
Mutum Churamani of HERICOUN said that awareness programmes must be organised in order to impart knowledge on socio-religious aspects of different communities of the State.
AMUCO president Dr Y Mani Khuman stressed on the need to analyse leadership conflict and political intervention regarding the issue.
In his speech, KIM president Thangkhosei said that the sense of insecurity is the major issue for every community and religion.
Later a joint forum of AMCO, UCM, KIM, AMUCO, HERICOUN and PDI was formed at the consultation programme.
The forum urged army's 57 Mountain Division and Government of India to regularly update the ongoing operation being carried out along Indo-Myanmar border to the public.
It also requested the authority concerned to allow media and civil society and religious leaders to visit the areas where operations are conducted.
The forum further urged the Government to conduct the operation with lady police personnel.
