Imphal, May 27 2013:
In the wake of proposed agitation by Inner Line Demand Committee with effect from 1st June, Kanglei Ima Lup (KIL) has put forward some points regarding the implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) .
In a statement, Publicity Secretary of KIL RK Sanahanbi observed that implementation of ILP does not mean ousting of non-Manipuris, but proper regulation of influx of outsiders into the State.
The main purpose is to identify them and purpose of their visit as well as the duration of visit in the state by the government.
If we don't control influx of migrant workers, the indigenous people might become minority in their own homeland.
In such a situation, those who are in authority should ponder over and take firm decision for implementing ILP in Manipur, Sanahanbi demanded.
