All Tangkhul Medicos' Assn holds first meet

In line with its commitment to provide services to the people of the State, the Tangkhul Medical practitioners under the aegis of All Tangkhul Medicos' Association (ATMA) held its first continuous medical education at Comprehensive Research Centre (CHSRC), Ukhrul today.
More than 80 medical practitioners from RIMS, JNIMS and other prominent health centres of the State actively participated in the continuous medical education (CME) .
Dr Melody Ningshen, OBG Dept, JNIMS and Dr Wormi Sharon, General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, Shija Hospital, Imphal led the team of doctors.
The 1st ATMA CME consultation was opened by Dr Angamla, Medical Suptd, Leishiphung Hospital, Ukhrul.
In its first general election, Dr N Lungleng, Asst Prof, ENT Dept, JNIMS was elected as the president of the Association including nine other executive members.
Honorary secretary of ATMA, Dr Manik said that the objective of ATMA is to work and dedicate its potential for the welfare of the community who need their attention and to free the people from dreadful diseases.
Dr Manik said the CME would be held from time to time while also saying that membership is open to BDS and AYUSH doctors.
Presently the Tangkhul community has dedicated allopathic doctors specialist in the streams like ENT, Laparoscopic Surgeon, Aneasthologist, Radiology Gynaecologist, Medicine etc rendering their service in the state as well outside.
The association also expressed gratitude to SMS, Life care Pvt Limited and CHSRC for sponsoring the programme and hosting the CME.
