CM congratulates Everest conquerors

Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has congratulated the 1st North East India Top of the World Mt Everest Expedition team, which has accomplished to send 10 mountaineers from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Sikkim to the summit of the world's highest mountain.
In a congratulatory message, Ibobi also hailed the three climbers of the State namely N Bidyapati Devi (first woman from the Manipur who climbed the peak of Mt Everest); N Chingkheinganba (the youngest climber from India to scale the summit of Everest) and Puyam Mohan, the Deputy Team Leader of the expedition, who also successful stepped his feet on the peak of Mt Everest.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister has congratulated two more mountaineers from Manipur namely Ch Shankar Singh and Ph Bidyachand Singh, who were in an NCC Mt Everest expedition team and conquered the highest mountain peak in the world.
"The tremendous success of 1st North East India Mt Everest Expedition-2013 has once again proved the potential and talents of the North East people in the area of adventure sports and mountaineering in particular and this will surely encourage and renew the hopes of those who aspire to be Everester," Chief Minister O Ibobi said.
He also appreciated the support rendered by all concerned including the North East Council (NEC), other NE states, family members of the climbers and people of Manipur.
