Social activist Amrik Singh Pahwa has hailed the safety order to use helmets for two-wheeler riders and pillion riders though he regrets that the imposition of the order overnight citing the lack of stocks in the state markets.
According to a press statement released by his press secretary, Mr Pahwa has conveyed the sentiment of the people to Principal Secretary (Home) and DGP In-charge to consider in the public interest and allow at least a month to put into force the order while citing the infrastructural lack in the state.
Amrik Singh has also spoke to IGAR (S) Maj Gen Choudhury requesting him to help the people by making available stocks of helmets through their canteens in public interest.
The Secretary of Manipur Sikhs Society, Amrik Singh Pahwa expressed concerns over the recent inconvenience faced by the peaceful and God fearing Sikh community in Pakistan at the hands of the Taliban and termed it as 'unfortunate'.
In a press release, the press secretary to Mr Pahwa conveys his appeal to the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Amritsar as well as the Prime Minister and Chief Minister of Punjab while praying such incidents are not repeated.
